USALSA is committed to ensuring that UniSA students receive the best possible legal education. We have a great relationship with the university staff, and can respectfully advocate on behalf of students if they have any concerns or feedback regarding their education.

Social Justice

USALSA is pleased to announce that the 2017/18 Committee has chosen its social justice partner which we will support for the duration of our term. We will be donating all proceeds from Welcome Back events as well as five percent of all profits raised from our social events for the entirety of our term to Ice Factor.

About Ice Factor

School students deemed ‘at risk’ show a high probability of leaving school prematurely. Established in 2005, Ice Factor aims to assist schools in their efforts to keep these ‘at risk’ students from leaving school by providing them with a focus through which they can develop vocational and life skills in a team. Ice Factor develops these vital life skills by the formation of an ice hockey team that includes a concise university-tutorial style class at the beginning of each training session, application of these skills to an on ice training session and then a short recap at the end of training. Life skills taught in these classes include student orientated discussions about leadership, team work, respect, humility and ambition.

We will also be encouraging our students to donate their time to Community Legal Services, such as the Roma Mitchell Community Legal Centre, in particular its Human Rights Volunteer Service
